Middle School Retreat

(Our Middle School retreat meets this Saturday morning at Alpine at 9:30 am to depart for the retreat. Please remember to bring a 2-Liter drink, your Bible, sleeping bag, towel, & wear comfortable clothes!) Sunday, our teens and sponsors will return to Alpine by noon…Please pick up your child by the bus barn. A special thanks to Jess & LeAnn Dowdy for opening up their home to us this weekend. We also thank the adult sponsors for sacrificing their weekend to serve our teens!

Essential Truth Curriculum

The 7^th-12^th graders are continuing a thorough Sunday morning study of “Essential Truth.” You may still purchase your student handbook for only $5. This handbook will guide the students in daily Bible reading & in Life Groups through the first of January. This morning’s theme is “What does God expect of us?”

BASKETBALL LEAGUE

This year we will have a 16u team. Cost will be about $30, and games will begin after the Christmas break on Saturdays. We will begin practice soon.

Encounter Exchange

7^th-9^th graders will continue to “Journey with Jesus” this Wednesday night as we go On Location to the GREAT BARRIER REEF! The Loft will be open from 6:30-8:00. Bring money for pizza, candy, & drinks from 6:30-7:00. Bring your Bible as we submerge into God’s word from 7:00-8:00.

REACH Groups

All 10^th-12^th grade students are invited to the GOSPEL JOURNEY study in our REACH Groups. Our groups meet at the Perry’s (111 Castlegate) and at the Alexander’s (800 Eden Drive) again this week. Arrive by 6:45 so we can eat some snacks, get Episode 6 started, and dig for God’s truth about the Gospel Journey.

Save the Date for LTC!

LTC 2008 is March 21-22. For most everyone, this is the last weekend of Spring Break. An LTC interest meeting is scheduled for December 2^nd at 9:00 am in the LOFT to discuss student & coach participation & important dates leading up to LTC. If your child is planning to participate in the convention or pre-convention events, or if you are an interested coach, please attend the meeting on Dec. 2^nd!

Winterfest 2008

January is just around the corner so we are beginning to make plans for Winterfest! The annual teen conference is for 7^th-12^th graders in Arlington, TX January 18-20. Cost for the weekend is $65 per person. Sign-ups begin next week!
