SUNDAY MORNINGS
YOU WILL NEED YOUR BIBLE. YOU WILL NEED YOUR CURRICULUM BOOK. The 7th-12th graders are continuing a thorough Sunday morning study of “Essential Truth.” You may still purchase your student handbook for only $5. This handbook will guide the students in daily Bible reading & in Life Groups through the first of January. This morning’s theme is “Breaking the Bond: Can I be Free?” If you have not paid yet, please give the money to your LIFE Group Leader.

10th-12th Grade 24 HOUR ESCAPE
ESCAPE from this life, routine, pressures, influences. Join us on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th. We need 20-30 students for this trip to be possible. This morning is your last chance to sign up!

BASKETBALL LEAGUE
This year we will have a 16u team. Cost will be about $30, and games will begin after the Christmas break on Saturdays. We will begin practice today at 2:30 p.m. till 3:30 at the Novak’s house (727 Reel Rd).

Encounter Exchange
7th-9th graders will gather for a very important service project this Wednesday evening from 6:30-8:00 pm. Bring a friend to help us wrap over 100 gifts for the Gregg County ARC (Association of Retarded Citizens). Their faces will truly light up when they receive a gift hand-wrapped by you! Free Pizza & drinks this week!

REACH Groups
All 10th-12th graders will meet ONE MORE TIME for a COMBINED REACH GROUP at the Alexander’s home (800 Eden Drive) this Wednesday evening. That means that those attending at the Perry’s come over to the Alexander’s. Arrive by 6:30 & we’ll conclude by 8:15 pm. We will have food, some games, worship and we will Review the Gospel Journey.

South Ward Reading Party
Your help is needed at a reading party with the South Ward kids Friday, December 14th. The Party lasts from 3:00-5:30 pm at South Ward Elementary. Afterwards, the AYM will hang out for dinner.

Winterfest 2008
Winterfest is just around the corner! The annual teen conference is for 7th-12th graders in Arlington, TX January 18-20. Cost for the weekend is $65 per person. Sign-up you & a friend today!

REACH Groups
All 10th-12th grade students are invited to the GOSPEL JOURNEY study in our REACH Groups. Our groups meet at the Perry’s (111 Castlegate) and at the Alexander’s (800 Eden Drive) again THIS week. Arrive by 6:45 so we can eat some snacks, get Episode 7 started, and dig for God’s truth about the Gospel Journey… It’s the FINAL Episode!

This year we will have a 16u team. Cost will be about $30, and games will begin after the Christmas break on Saturdays. We will begin practice soon.

An LTC interest meeting is scheduled for December 2nd at 9:00 am in the LOFT to discuss student & coach participation & important dates leading up to LTC. If your child is planning to participate in the convention or pre-convention events, or if you are an interested coach, please attend the meeting on Dec. 2nd!

Middle School Retreat

(Our Middle School retreat meets this Saturday morning at Alpine at 9:30 am to depart for the retreat. Please remember to bring a 2-Liter drink, your Bible, sleeping bag, towel, & wear comfortable clothes!) Sunday, our teens and sponsors will return to Alpine by noon…Please pick up your child by the bus barn. A special thanks to Jess & LeAnn Dowdy for opening up their home to us this weekend. AYM NOTES for November 4, 2007

High School Retreat Cancelled
We cancelled the retreat because there was not enough interest and too many conflicts with schedules. Hopefully we can ESCAPE for 24 hours on the weekend of December 1-2. We hope to do something soon together. It's imortant for our group for us to get out of town together.

Special Sunday chapel class Nov. 11
Next Sunday night in the Chapel at 6 p.m., Gil Sanchez, director of Casa de la Esperanza in Chihuahua, Mexico, will be our guest speaker. Many parents, teens and others who have been involved with Alpine’s mission effort at the orphanage over the last three years will be excited to hear Gil speak about the history of this ministry, needs and future plans for a possible medical mission.

Youth Workers meeting Today!
Today we will meet during lunch in The LOFT. Make sure you are there if you are teaching or leading a class or group.

Middle School Retreat
The 7th-9th graders are looking forward to another exciting retreat at the Dowdy’s ranch this Saturday & Sunday, November 10th-11th. Cost for the retreat is $30 per person. Please pay Melissa today! Friends are welcome! We will meet in the Alpine parking lot November 10th at 9:30 am & return to Alpine Sunday by noon. Things to Bring: 2 Liter soft drink, sleeping bag, camo clothes, overnight toiletries, towels, warm & comfortable clothes, & Bible.
