AYM Notes 4.27.8

LOFT WORK DAY FOR TEENS AND PARENTS!
May 3rd from 8:30 a.m. till 2 p.m. parents and teens are invited to work together under the leadership of Jesse Morgan to paint The LOFT.

Camp of the Hills/Mission McAllen Meeting

Our first COTH & Mission McAllen planning meeting is TODAY at 3 and 4 p.m. respectively in the LOFT. All adult sponsors and teens interested in going on either of these trips should be there!

MOMENTUM
5th-8th grade meets in the LOFT Wednesdays, 6:30-8 p.m. for MOMENTUM. The snack bar is open from 6:30-7 p.m. for candy and drinks. Bring a friend as we continue the AMAZING GRACE Series.

One-Minute Bible
Alpine’s MYministry will begin the One-Minute Bible Curriculum on Sunday mornings in June. If you would like to order the One-Minute Bible for your 5th-8th grade teen, please e-mail Melissa at mkitchens@cablelynx.com asap.

AYM Summer Interns
We are excited to announce our summer interns! Send them an e-mail or look them up on facebook & welcome them to the AYM family! Shannon Morgan from ACU (sdm04c[at]acu.edu), Bobby Burke from SFA (bobbyburke[at]cablelynx.com), & Julie Kelley from ACU (jak06m[at]acu.edu) will all arrive in mid-May. You will need to use the "@" sign where the [at] is in the email address.

May 4th will be a day that we celebrate with families of the graduating class of 2008.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED for Jr. & Sr. Banquet
Parents of 10th &11th grade students will be coordinating banquet preparations. If you want to volunteer, contact Ricky.

Please purchase a tickets in the foyer these next two weeks: $10 per adult, $5 per student). All AYM students are invited! You must pre-purchase your ticket.

Wednesday Home Bible Studies
9th-12th graders are meeting in homes for “Home Bible Studies." Students may arrive at 6:30 p.m. Seniors will lead Bible studies from 7-8 p.m. Students meet at the Novak’s home (727 Reel Rd.) OR on the east side of town at the Collier's home (3204 Linda Lane). On May 7th, we will combine both Bible Study homes at the Alexander’s home.

Mother/Daughter Lunch
This Saturday, May 3rd, is our annual High School Mother/Daughter gathering. Our Senior Girls will be honored at the noon lunch at Beth’s Café. Grandmothers are invited! Lunch prices range from $7-$10.

Mission Mexico Garage Sale!
On Saturday May 10th, we will have a garage sale benefiting our Mission Mexico work projects. Bring items to the building on May 7th and 8th. More info? Contact Tesa Wilson or Ricky.

Mission Mexico Meeting
If you missed last week’s meeting and are planning on going with us, we will have a meeting for you on April 30th, at 5:30 in The LOFT. The meeting will last until 6:30 p.m. Be on time!
Your $100 deposit is due today through next week. Stocks are available to raise the remainder of the money if needed.

AYM Notes 4.13.8

iParents Class Begins New Series
Arlis Wood, Ph.D., will be guiding us through “Parenting With Love and Logic: Raising Responsible Teens” on Sunday mornings. Plan on being a part of this two month study. This class is primarily for parents of 5th-12th graders, and the practical principles can be applied through out that age group.

Maximize Your Worship Experience
All 5th-8th graders are strongly encouraged to remain in the Family Life Center for worship unless assisting with Super Stars. See Sandra Boorman to join a Super Stars team.

Parents of 10th and 11th grade students MEET TODAY. will be needed to help prepare for the banquet, along with serving the meal. We will meet @ 11:30-11:50 a.m. in room C6 immediately following the morning assembly with Soph. & Jrs.’ parents.

Seniors Meet Sunday Afternoon
Seniors meet @ 4 - 5:30 p.m. to work on Bible Studies, pick Sr. Bibles, and begin practicing a Sr. Song (the last part is optional). We will meet at the Perry’s (111 Castlegate).

EXPERIENCING GOD
Bring $5 to class if you wish to purchase a daily journal for our church wide series, or if you got one last week.

MYMINISTRY (5th-8th, Melissa Kitchens)
Sunday FUEL Time
We’re excited about Alpine’s new Middle School Youth Ministry (MYministry) and the Sunday morning FUEL time! Teachers are Erin & Melissa Higgins/Mark & Jamie English (5th grade, Children’s Library), Kevin & Dee Anne McCrary/Melissa Kitchens (6th grade, C-4), Steve & Brenda Alexander/Charles & Juli Orr (7th grade, Loft), and Angus & Tami Pool/David & Tara Rangel (8th grade, Loft).

Softball begins this Tuesday!
Our Awesome Softball season starts Tuesday at Hinsley Park, at 6:30 p.m. If you signed up to play, please be there by 6:15 p.m. and bring a check for $20 if you plan on playing. Let Ricky know if you need a jersey.

Wednesday Home Bible Studies
9th-12th graders are meeting in homes for Reach Groups, now called “Home Bible Studies." Students may arrive at 6:30 p.m. The devo will go from 7-8 p.m. Students meet at Nick Novak’s home (727 Reel Rd. turning into the first driveway west of the Episcopal church. Please do not drive on or park on the grass) OR on the east side of town at the Chris and Mindi Collier's home (3204 Linda Lane). All Seniors meet with Ricky at the LOFT, 4:30 p.m. today to prepare to lead these Bible Studies.

SHINE
Juniors and Seniors interested in attending the SHINE weekend at A&M can register online at www.aggiesforchrist.org Tell Ricky if you plan on attending!
