AYM Summer Interns
We are excited to announce our summer interns! Send them an e-mail or look them up on facebook & welcome them to the AYM family! Shannon Morgan from ACU (sdm04c@acu.edu), Bobby Burke from SFA (bobbyburke@cablelynx.com), & Julie Kelley from ACU (jak06m@acu.edu) will all arrive in mid-May.
The LOFT Work Day THIS SATURDAY
ALL 7th-12th graders AND PARENTS are meeting this Saturday, May 17th @ 8:30 a.m. to begin painting the rooms in The LOFT. On a later date, we will pull up carpet, and work on some construction projects up there.

Camp of the Hills
The COTH trip deposit of $25 is due to Shannon Morgan by Sunday, June 1. The remaining $75 is due at our next parent/teen meeting Wednesday evening, June 11. We still need a few more teens to join us on this journey June 15-21!
One-Minute Bible
Alpine’s MYministry will begin the One-Minute Bible Curriculum on Sunday mornings in June. If you would like to order the One-Minute Bible for your 5th-8th grade teen, please e-mail Melissa at mkitchens@cablelynx.com asap. The Bibles cost $10.
Prince Caspian
Our Wednesday evening lessons May 14 and 21 will revolve around the Biblical themes presented in the new Chronicles of Narnia movie. Then, plan on joining us at the theater next Saturday, May 17th, to watch the movie! You may pre-purchase a ticket for $4.75 for the 12:30 p.m. showing at Hollywood Theaters at www.fandango.com.
Car Wash Helpers
Teens are needed to help at the Grandmother’s Car Wash this Wednesday, May 14th before Momentum. You can earn one service hour for working from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

ALL 9th-12th graders are meeting this Wednesday @ the home of Steve and Brenda Alexander (800 Eden Drive—less than 2 miles from the church). Students may arrive at 6:30 p.m and we’ll end by 8:15 p.m. A van will leave the church by 6:30 p.m. at the bus barn. Bring a decent swim suit if you want to get into the pool. Ping pong and wahoo games also available! Free food will be provided.
Mission Mexico Garage Sale!
NEXT Saturday May 10th, we will have a garage sale benefiting our Mission Mexico work projects. Bring items to the building on May 7th, 8th, and 9th. More info? Contact Tesa Wilson or Ricky. The Sale will be on Saturday from 7 a.m. till 4 p.m. Come help set up on Friday after 5 p.m.

OR on the east side of town at the Collier's home (3204 Linda Lane). On May 7th, we will combine both Bible Study homes at the Alexander’s home.

Mother/Daughter Lunch
This Saturday, May 3rd, is our annual High School Mother/Daughter gathering. Our Senior Girls will be honored at the noon lunch at Beth’s Café. Grandmothers are invited! Lunch prices range from $7-$10.

iParents Class Begins New Series
Arlis Wood, Ph.D., will be guiding us through “Parenting With Love and Logic: Raising Responsible Teens” on Sunday mornings. Plan on being a part of this two month study. This class is primarily for parents of 5th-12th graders, and the practical principles can be applied through out that age group.

All 5th-8th graders are strongly encouraged to remain in the Family Life Center for worship unless assisting with Super Stars. See Sandra Boorman to join a Super Stars team.

We’re excited about Alpine’s new Middle School Youth Ministry (MYministry) and the Sunday morning FUEL time! Teachers are Erin & Melissa Higgins/Mark & Jamie English (5th grade, Children’s Library), Kevin & Dee Anne McCrary/Melissa Kitchens (6th grade, C-4), Steve & Brenda Alexander/Charles & Juli Orr (7th grade, Loft), and Angus & Tami Pool/David & Tara Rangel (8th grade, Loft).

Young Men and Dad Lunch
Today we will eat a $4 per person BBQ lunch up in the LOFT immediately after the morning assembly. Members of the PT CoC Youth Group will join us to hear Steve Hallaway to talk about “WINNING THE BATTLE”. We will be equipped to avoid the traps of lust and sexual temptations. We will dismiss @ 1:30 p.m.

LTC Show-off & Celebration
Tonight, March 30th, the LTC participants will have a chance to show-off in front of parents & peers. We’ll meet in the Chapel from 6:00-7:15, & then have a family celebration at Longview Lanes from 7:30-8:30. The cost of bowling is $3 per person. Students, plan to arrive at Alpine by 5:45 to meet with your team! Thank you to all the volunteers who helped assemble the plaques Wednesday evening!

Softball
This week we will begin our Awesome Softball season on Tuesday night at Hinsley field @ 6:30 p.m. . If you signed up to play, please be there by 6:15 and bring your check for $20 if you plan on playing.

Celebration Station Lock-in
We still need 3 adults to go with us on this trip. Two additional parents will be needed to drive us home @ 6 a.m. We cannot make this trip without adult volunteers. This trip is for High School and Middle School.
The East Texas Church of Christ youth groups have reserved Celebration Station in Mesquite for an exciting night of fun April 4-5. Meet at Alpine @ 8 p.m., we’ll leave Mesquite @ 6 a.m. The cost of $30 per person includes bumper boats, go-carts, video games, & miniature golf. Paintball may be available for an additional $10. Friends are invited! Sign-up & pay this morning if you are planning to come!

On Sunday morning, February 3rd, the parents of teens class will be hearing a presentation for parents regarding internet safety for our families. Sgt. Mike Hyko, a retired Longview Police officer of 29 years, will share his experiences and positive actions we can take as parents to make the internet a useful and safe tool for our families. We will have donuts, juice and coffee available at 8:45 a.m. and begin class at 9 a.m.

Powder Puff Football

New Lives in Christ
Morghan Parker, Sydney Beckner, Stephanie Shafer, and Seth Somers have made a new beginning in their lives by accepting Christ as their Savior. We witnessed and celebrated their baptisms this past Tuesday and Wednesday.

Wilderness Trek
We are heading to Colorado this summer on June 28th through July 5th. We will journey up a mountain together to discover God’s beauty around us and within us. Carrying 60 lbs. of extra weight around has never been so rewarding. We need a crew of 17 teens from the current 9th-12th grades. Sign up today.

Winterfest 2008
Winterfest is this weekend! Meet in the Alpine parking lot by 4:30 pm this Friday with a sack dinner. We will return to Alpine Sunday afternoon by 2:00 pm. Cost for the weekend is $65 per person. Please turn in your balance to Melissa or Ricky before Friday! (Cost for sponsors is $30) Don’t forget to bring your Bible, comfortable & casual clothes, backpack, hotel room snacks, overnight toiletries, camera, swimsuit, cash for 3 meals, mall spending money, & contribution cash.

LTC Practice
Sign up this morning to be on a team! Due to Winterfest, 7th-12th grade LTC practices will begin Sunday, January 27th. Please turn in your hotel & event registration form by Sunday, February 3rd.

Powder Puff Football
The 4th annual Powder Puff Football game will take place Sunday afternoon, February 3rd at LOBO Field. The 7th, 9th, & 11th grade girls (Pink Team) will match up against the 8th, 10th, & 12th grade girls (Red Team). Make plans now to attend & either play, cheer, or coach!

REVOLVE TOUR
AYM Girls will not want to miss the Women of Faith’s teenage conference February 22-24! We have tickets to the REVOLVE TOUR in Houston at the Toyota Center. Tickets are $60 per person. We will depart Alpine Friday afternoon & return Sunday afternoon. See Melissa if you are interested!

Parents of Teens Class
Beginning TODAY, parents of 5-12th grade students are invited to a new class that will help parents with relevant issues in raising their teens in the 21st century. We will meet in the Activity Center below the Loft and will have donuts for parents and teens starting at 8:45 a.m., and then class begins at 9 p.m.

Winterfest is a weekend in Arlington with thousands of other teens growing closer to God and each other. The annual teen conference is for 7th-12th graders on January 18-20. LTC Lock-in 2008
The LTC Lock-in is this coming Friday, January 11th from 6-10 p.m. 7th-12th grade teens will receive service hours for helping out with the lock-in. E-mail Melissa if you can assist!

AYM Basketball
Our first game of the season is at 5 p.m. vs St. Mary's on Saturday January 5, in the LHS green gym.
Basketball practice this sunday @ 2:45 at the Novak’s place. Our next game will be Saturday @ 6 pm vs OHBC in the LHS green gym.

Life Group Christmas Parties
• 7th & 8th grade: lunch today at Papacitas & gift exchange at the Corbitt’s home (3227 Restview). Teens may be picked up at 2:00 pm.
• 9th grade: progressive dinner party tonight. Meet at Alpine tonight at 6:00 pm.
• 10th-12th grade: Cook-out & white elephant gift exchange tonight at Steve & Julie Henderson’s home at 6:00 pm. Meet at Alpine at 5:45 if you want to follow a group to the party.

SUNDAY MORNINGS
YOU WILL NEED YOUR BIBLE. YOU WILL NEED YOUR CURRICULUM BOOK. The 7th-12th graders are continuing a thorough Sunday morning study of “Essential Truth.” You may still purchase your student handbook for only $5. This handbook will guide the students in daily Bible reading & in Life Groups through the end of January. This morning’s theme is “Get Connected: Why do I need other Christians?”

BASKETBALL LEAGUE
This year we will have a 16u team. Cost per person is $30, and games will begin after the Christmas break on Saturdays. We will practice today at 2:30 p.m. till 3:30 at the Novak’s house (727 Reel Rd). Turn in your $30 to Ricky.

Encounter
All 7th-12th graders will meet in the Loft this Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm for food, games, worship, & a movie.

7th-9th graders will gather for a very important service project this Wednesday evening from 6:30-8:00 pm. Bring a friend to help us wrap over 100 gifts for the Gregg County ARC (Association of Retarded Citizens). Their faces will truly light up when they receive a gift hand-wrapped by you! Free Pizza & drinks this week!

REACH Groups
All 10th-12th graders will meet ONE MORE TIME for a COMBINED REACH GROUP at the Alexander’s home (800 Eden Drive) this Wednesday evening. That means that those attending at the Perry’s come over to the Alexander’s. Arrive by 6:30 & we’ll conclude by 8:15 pm. We will have food, some games, worship and we will Review the Gospel Journey.

South Ward Reading Party
